We know how important it is to have a clear path upon completion of our programs. For some families that may mean keeping the social learning going by participating in another program with us or moving on to partner with other professionals. For other families, it may mean it is time to take those new skills and use them in other situations and settings. Our virtual Connections Café was created to help parents learn about how friendship skills can be incorporated into different interest-based, non-therapeutic programs. We’ve done the research for you and reached out to a variety of recreational programs to start the conversation about intentionally integrating friendship opportunities into special interest programs. Each Café session features a glimpse into a different program and discussion about the unique ways friendships are built through common interests. We’ll be chatting with professionals ready to support friendships through the arts, cooking, fitness, overnight camp, Dungeons and Dragons and more. Feel free to grab a coffee, cozy up on your couch and drop in virtually to these conversations at no charge. You’ll leave with new ideas about how to use your child’s strengths and interests as you continue to support them in building relationships with peers. These sessions are open to our entire Connections SLP community. For information about our upcoming sessions, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
